The Spiny Orbweaver is a very common sight here in South Florida. Many call it a crab spider, but that term refers to spiders in the Thomisidae family. Crab spiders do not build webs and instead tend to use ambush hunting in flowers to catch their prey. This spider is in the orbweaver family, Araneidae.
